Our Faith

 Declaration of Faith

1.  Of the Scriptures

 We believe that the Bible was written by men divinely inspired,

  • and is a perfect treasure of heavenly instruction:
  • that it has God for it's author, salvation for it's end,
  • and truth without any mixture of error,
  • that it reveals the principles by which God will judge us,
  • and therefore is and shall remain until the end of the world, the true center of Christian union
  • and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions shall be tried

2. Of the True God

We believe that there is one, and only one, living and true God, an infinite, intelligent Spirit, whose name is JEHOVAH.

  • the Maker and Supreme Ruler of heaven and earth
  • inexpressibly glorious in holiness
  • and worthy of all possible honor, confidence, and love
  • that in the unity of the god-head, are three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit
  • equal in every divine perfection

3. Of the Fall of Man

We believe that man was created in holiness, under the law of his Maker

  • but by voluntary transgression fell from that holy and happy state
  • in consequence of which all mankind are now sinners
  • not by constraint; but choice
  • being by nature utterly void of that holiness required by the law of God, positively inclined to evil; and therefore under just condemnation to eternal ruin without defense or excuse

4. Of the Way of Salvation

We believe that the salvation of sinners is wholly of grace;

  • through the Son of God;
  • who by the appointment of the Father, freely took upon Him our nature, yet without sin;
  • honored the divine law by His personal obedience;
  • and by His death made a full atonement for our sins;
  • that having risen from the dead, he is now enthroned in heaven;
  • and uniting in His wonderful person the tender sympathies with divine perfections, He is in every way qualified to be a suitable, a compassionate, and an all-sufficient Savior

EQUIPPED BY GOD - WHY DO WE EXIST?
by Dr. Charles F. Stanley

· He created each of us with the exact personality and body we would need to fulfill His purpose for our life.
· God has equipped us with the strengths, abilities, and talents necessary to do what He planned for us.
· The Holy Spirit has given us spiritual gifts with which to serve one another in the church.
· Every experience in our life is used by God to equip us for doing His will. Both the pleasant and difficult times shape our character, mature us spiritually, and train us to help others.

God uniquely created each of us, and He’s provided us with everything we need to serve and glorify Him. All we must do is step out in obedience with full reliance on His grace and power.

Hebrews 13:20-21, Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

Sometimes followers of Christ get the wrong idea about their role versus God’s role. They may think that God is sitting on His throne, waiting to meet their needs when they call on Him. Although He is a loving Father who provides for us, we must be careful not to assume He exists to serve us.

The reality is that we exist for God. He created us for His purposes and has equipped every believer to serve Him in some fashion. According to Ephesians 2:10, “We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.” Everything about us has been designed by God to equip us for the work He preordained long before our birth.
